M.R.S.S.S. Highlights

The team of Maple Ridge students on the radio program “High Q” successfully defeated two other teams to become the champions of Playoff No. 1. The team, made up of Paul Jones, John Dittrich, Gloria Solodki, and Alan Peterson, defeated a team from Mission on March 17 by a score of 495-105, and a team from Chilliwack with the score of 385-305 on April 7, to win the playoff.

MRSSS students Elizabeth Brooke and Jennifer Johnston will be participants in the television program “Reach For The Top”, to be televised Tuesday evening, April 21. The two students from our school will encompass a team with two students from Princess Margaret Senior High School in North Surrey.

The Spring Prom will be held Friday evening, May 8.

The annual Night of Plays will be held Thursday evening, April 30 in the school auditorium. Two plays are being presented this year, as well as variety entertainment. The two drama groups and the Stage Club are working feverishly for the big night.

The Practical and Fine Arts Exposition will be held at the school Friday evening, May 22. This is presented jointly by the school and the Home Economics. Industrial Arts, Physical Education, Art, Music, and Commerce departments. The varied program will feature displays of woodwork, metalwork, clothing food, ceramics, painting, gymnastics, and commerce. More news about the Exposition in future issues of The Gazette.
