A team of students from Maple Ridge successfully defeated a team from Agassiz on the radio program “High Q” on March 3. This program is similar to the television production “Reach For The Top.”

The team from Maple Ridge, which held a large margin over the other team in the number of points, was made up of Paul Jones, John Dittrich, Gloria Solodki and Alan Peterson. A contest between Maple Ridge and Mission will be heard on CHWK (1270 kilocycles) on March 17, starting at 6:30 p.m.

Monday morning, March 9, an assembly was held in the gymnasium. Students’ Council president Brian Pendleton introduced various speakers. Alice Kleaman, Peter Tomlinson, and Keith Fraser commented on their recent trip to Victoria where they viewed the Legislature in session.

Henry Dunbar and Grace Macdonald reported on their trip to the Educational Conference held recently at UBC. The last few minutes of the assembly were devoted to comments from the audience regarding the proposed raising of Students’ Council fees.
