M.R.S.S.S. Highlights

The first Ridge Rambler (M.R.S.S.S. newspaper) of the 1963-64 year was rolled off the presses last week, and proved to be a complete sell-out. Such a large demand for it was not expected, and it is thought that this first issue may become a “collector’s item”.

A “Christmas Carol Hootenanny” was held as an assembly on Monday, December 9. The Graduation Choir and the Glee Club, under the direction of Mrs. Shaw and accompanied by Martha Tompkins on the piano, sang several Christmas carols on their own, and led the audience in several well-known ones. Announcing was done by Jim Hestermann of the Glee Club. The Hootenanny proved quite successful, and possible plans are being made for another in the future.

The second-term examinations commence Friday, December 13, and run until Friday, December 20.

The Christmas social will be held on Friday, December 20, with the theme “Candy Cane Capers”. Advance tickets for the social should be purchased from Students’ Council class representatives. Dress for this social will be semi-formal, and arrangements are being made to have a band.
